We understand that starting something new can be daunting and intimidating. We've created a clear, structured and exciting system to introduce you to Jiu Jitsu in the safest and most enjoyable way possible!
You'll begin your Jiu-Jitsu journey in our beginner-specific classes for ladies only, where you'll learn the 20 most important and effective techniques every woman should know. Expect to embrace new movements through foundational techniques—stay curious, have fun, and celebrate every small win.
After a few months of drilling each beginner technique until it’s second nature, you'll have improved both physically and mentally through drills that sharpen your awareness, reactions, and boundary-setting skills. By this stage, you'll really start building confidence in your abilities with our Reflex Development Drills™️.
Complete the course by demonstrating everything you have learned with one of our instructors. If successful, you'll earn your pink belt, a symbol that shows just how far you’ve come. Walk away with a sense of pride and tangible proof of how far you’ve come.
Eventually, you may be ready to step into our mixed beginner adult classes. These sessions introduce new techniques to challenge your skills and deepen your understanding. Progression is always based on individual readiness, so if you’re not quite there yet, you’re encouraged to continue until you feel confident to level up.

For your first class, you'll need to wear something comfortable that covers your shoulders (t-shirt, joggers, gym attire).
We believe anyone can train Jiu Jitsu, but not every gym is for everyone.
Every ladies class is taught with no previous experience necessary, so you will not feel left behind.
Our program is structured by class number (15 group classes), so you will always know exactly what techniques you will be learning on any given day. You can even check out the techniques of the day on GracieUniversity.com before class to get a head start!
Yes! We understand that most of our members aren't planning on becoming a pro fighter and are doing this to improve their health, lifestyle and confidence, so getting injured isn't an option.
